The absence of a universal Comprehensive Chronic Pain Management program in the marketplace led us to create a “Chronic Pain Task Force Team” to explore and exchange ideas to develop a model for a comprehensive program. The team was comprised of clinical practitioners and specialists, as well as professional healthcare consultants.
Goals:
- Minimize disruption to patient’s life from injury
- Minimize burden to employer for lost time and costs while protecting patient from harm
- Reduce costs by early intervention and prevention of chronic pain/disability when possible
